Research Interests

Kate is interested in the intersection between the history of medicine and the non-therapeutic use of pharmaceuticals in post-war Europe. Her research has focused on the history of gender and everyday life in twentieth century Europe, with an emphasis on analysing the lives of individual actors. Kate’s doctoral research examined the experiences of female doctors and nurses who worked at Ravensbrück concentration camp during the Third Reich. Kate has published on this subject in the journal German History.
